F1 CS2K problem on new computer

I have the game working fine on my old computer, but when
I tried it on my new machine it has several problems.  If
I go into the driving school, the computer locks.  I can
watch replays from any car's***pit view, but if I try to
change to an out of***pit view, the computer locks up.
I CAN run an entire race (only tried up to ten laps), but
as soon as my car crosses the finish line, the computer
locks up.  Has anyone ever heard of this type of problem?

PC info:
1.7 GHz P4, 256 MB RAM, Intel 850 GBC motherboard,
ASUS V8200 GForce3 Ti 200, SoundBlaster Live, LogiTech
Formula Force wheel (USB), running under Win98 SE.
