GPL problem

by Jochen Heisterman » Fri, 19 Jan 2001 23:41:39

I recently upgraded my system to a AMD 1000 with Geforce2 MX card.
Of course I reinstalled W98 and the appropriate drivers like the actual
Detonator drivers and DirectX7.0a.

Everything works fine, but GPL (V1.2 with Direct3D-patch) does not work.
After the initial screen the screen goes black and the system hangs up.
Only a reboot helps.

What can I do?

You  could try a  different monitor  refresh  rate.

If they only problem is with GPL, then maybe it's GPL there's something
wrong with.  Try backing-up your current GPL folder (or just renaming it)
and doing a fresh install of GPL.  Then patch the new install to 1.2, and
install the d3d renderer with the correct core.ini settings and see if you
still get the same problem.

Also try disabling network and modem support in GPL (i think the lines in
the core.ini are disable_ipx = 0 and disable_modem = 0, which of course need
to be changed to 1).  Doing this doesn't stop Vroc working btw.
