GPL problem

by Andrew Fielde » Tue, 09 Jun 1998 04:00:00

This weekend I thought I'd see what everyone's been raving on
about, and install the GPL demo. The install seemed to work,
but when trying to run GPL I get an error message about a
missing library \WINDOWS\SVRAPI.DLL.
Any idea where I can get hold of this ?

Win95, and the file is \WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SVRAPI.DLL
Is this a standard Win95 file. I can't remember deleting it.

Apologies in advance if I'm being incredibly thick here,
but I've not seen anyone else having problems with
missing libraries when trying to run the GPL demo.
It's now complaining about another missing library
SECUR32.DLL. What the hell's going on?!
Maybe I'll try a reinstall of Win95. BTW I've
previously installed GP2, TOCA and other demos with
no problems.

Those files are part of Win95 networking. My guess is that you don't have
networking installed in your home computer? I'm pretty sure GPL demo looks
for a network connection upon startup (we all remember the dial-up hassle?),
and if it can't find network components, it gives an error message.

Try installing Dial-up adapter and IP protocol ... that should take care of
it.
