Nascar Thunder 2004 (Ps2) Drafting Question

Well, I would have to agree with you on that point. I would much
rather post to a group specifically design around this game. If you
know one please let me know because it may have just the right info I
am looking for.

Apology accepted. Just for your reference and from the posts that I
have read I can understand where I may have confused people. This
"feature"  is either not being used on the PC version (by the users?)
or is not an option in that version and is limited to the Consoles.
Next time I will make sure I more clearly describe what I am asking
about.

Yeah, that's what I was referring to, and I actually use the AL pedals and
shifter.  Basically, in NR2003, you can't get any wheelspin from a
standstill unless you dump the clutch while you're bouncing off the rev
limiter.  If it's cold and the tires fresh, there is wheelspin in first and
second at modest RPMs if you hammer it too hard while under way.  All I can
figure is that, as others have mentioned, Papy programmed in an always on
clutch aid due to the lack of a properly modeled clutch.  Not that I want to
do burnouts all day long, but it's just an "immersion factor" that's
missing.  Of course, if Cup cars really are like that, then never mind.

To be serious, what is it anyway? Is this like radio communication with
other drivers/teams?

Nascar Thunder 2004 (Ps2) Drafting Question

by l.. » Thu, 26 Feb 2004 09:32:12

This is an article posted by Peter Ives. I have reposted it here. One
thing to point out is that the actual physical draft is not affected
only the Grudges sytem. When sharing a draft (by pressing R2 on PS2)
you are just trying to make friends with the guy you sharing that
draft with and thats it, nothing more.

Hope this is of some help to you.  Found it at 'the armchair empire'
website:

www.armchairempire.com

'The most notable addition is the new alliances and grudge system.
Your
performance dictates how difficult or easy a race can be for you. If
you
race like a maniac and hit your opponents and knock them off the track
youll end up making enemies. During, or at the end of each race a red
or green icon appears above certain racers who either have a grudge or
have an alliance with you green represents alliance, red represents a
grudge. Both grudges and alliances are also represented by
percentages,
Naturally the higher the percentage, the greater the grudge or
alliance.
Having an alliance with another racer can cause him to allow you to
pass
or share a draft quite frequently. Having a grudge will cause your
opponent to give you a bump at every opportune moment, which can cause
you to lose the race. The best part of the grudge and alliance system
is
that it lasts throughout your career or season mode.'
