T2 and win95-help

I just upgraded to win95 from 3.1, and my T2 won't register.  There is no
joystick menu in the control panel, and i don't know what to add in the
"add new hardware" wizard.  I'm running a 75mhz Pentium Acer, with sound
blaster pro.  Everything works except except for the T2 in windows, it
works in dos though.  Monster Truck Madness isn't too much fun with the
keyboard.

Try this:

1. Goto the Add New Hardware Control Panel
2. Don't choose Autodetect
3. Choose Sound, Video, and Game Controllers
4. Choose Microsoft and Gameport Joystick

After rebooting Win95 the Joystick control panel should appear.  Then to
get the T2 to calibrate, you need to use the Axis-converter that came with
your T2.  If you don't have one of these converters, you will need to
contact Thrustmaster to get a replacement.  Win95 will not properly
recognize the T2 without it.

When you Select "Add new hardware" you must also select {No} for the
"Do you want Windows to Search for you're new hardware". You will get
a list of hardware options. Scroll down through and select Joystick.
If its still not there, try "Sound,Video,Game controllers". Follow the
setup directions from there. Make sure you calibrate it under the
settings screen.

An even easier way is go to control panel, select joystick, choose joystick
type, custom, 2 axis 4 button, type as wheel, the setup from there is easy.

It's kinda hard to Calibrate a joystick in Win95 when your Joystick Control
Panel is missing.  Both my post and Ron's were concerning re-installing the
missing control panel item, as this was the original poster's problem.

BTW, you don't need the 'Is a Racecar Controller' setting.  As a matter of
fact Microsoft recommended not checking it in Monster Truck Madness'
helpfile.

In control panel setup as joystick one  >> Custom >> 2 axis 4 buttons
Special = is a race controller

So far this is the only thing i've gottwn to werk but you need to use
the adapter supplied with the T2 ( between contoller and joy port )

I have yet to get the calibration to hold steady though (using ch
gamecard)

Hope this helps!

I don't know if it really makes a difference or not, but in the helpfile
for Monster Truck Madness, Microsoft recommends not using the 'Is a Race
Car Controller' option.
