SCGT Service Pack 3

I know that the total download for Service Pack 3 is something like 135
Megs.  My question is, once it's all installed, how much HD space does
SCGT then take up?

Starting to run low on HD space, but would like to give this a try, if
possible.

Thanks.

HOW THE F**K is the average person expected to download 120+ meg.  It
won't even fit on a zip disk!!!

I hope it get's widely distributed on Cover CD's

OK.  Myabe I'm dense, but now that I've downloaded all 45 files, I don't
understand the installation instructions.  In step 4, the instructions say to
extract the zip file(s) into the SCGT directory, making sure to keep the
paths   Well, none of the Service Pack 3 files I downloaded are in .zip
format.  There is one SCGT30.exe file and the rest are .c?? files (.c00,
.c01, .c02, etc).

I assume that the SCGT30.exe file is self-extracting.  In that case, how do I
make sure that it keeps the paths, and is extracted into the proper
directory? ( If it was a .zip file, I know how to do it.)

And, one last question, should all 45 files be put together into a separate
temporary directory before running the .exe file?

After downloading this monster, I just want to make sure that I don't***
it up.

Thanks.

As far as I understand the SCGT30.exe file will create one large (125mb) zip
file from the other 44 files you have downloaded. This zip file then
contains all the files (with their associated paths) which you have to
extract into your SCGT directory. There is a readme file included in the
125mb zip file which details the installation instructions very well.

Unfortunately I was unable to get the SCGT30.exe file to work and had to
manually unace the 45 files using a seperate piece of software. If the exe
file also fails to work for you let me know and i'll be more than happy to
run through the manual process with you.

Good luck.. (it's certainly worth it although I am having problems with a
lack of engine sound with mine at the moment....)

use getright or go!zilli and have it download overnight. I stuck with
dial-up here as well and it took me around 8 hours or so to get it all but,
I've definately spent more time than that playing with it so it was worth it
for me.

It is a 3rd party private effort.  It will most likely never see a
cd compilation.  If you use a download manager like Go!zilla, you can
set it up to start dloading when you are heading to bed, and Go!zilla
will spend the night grabbing your files.
Unless of course you have that rotten Euro Internet pricing where you
pay for every minute...Dang that must hurt the wallet.

Use a dload manager like Go!zilla.  It will automatically dload ALL 45
files in the background or while you are away.  easy to use and free to
own.

Peter,

Thanks for the tip.  I followed your advice, and it worked fine.

Now, I just have one more question.  After applying this patch, I find that I no
longer can set my controller (a TSW Wheel) for split-axis within SCGT.  I  have
the patch for the split-axis (downloaded months ago).  Can I still apply it now,
without screwing things up?

Thanks again.

Or like me (with rotten per minute phone calls) you could just load go!zilla
everytime you go on the net and continue downloading - after almost a month
of doing this I've just downloaded the last file without going on the net
any longer than I usually would anyway!

Well, we are just beginning to sort out these damn prices for being on the
internet over here in the UK. I changed my service to one which provides me
with totally free off peak internet access so I am now more than happy with
my lot :O))

PS:- Go!zilla is one of the best pieces of software I have come across....

That's what CD-ROM is for.

It better not. I made it.
I do not want it distributed like that.

The lack of engine sounds in certain cars id due to people making
different sounds for the cars.

Go to www.gtinsider.com and download the GT Sound check file which
will tell you where every file you need can be found.
