GPL - impressions and a Voodoo question

Well, I've had GPL for almost a fortnight now (UK based) and it's everything
I hoped it would be and more. I've fallen in love with the Ferrari and
hardly driven any other cars, plus I've only spent a reasonable amount of
time at Monza and Spa - there's just so much to this sim! It's quite unlike
any other I've ever driven, and the control you can get is amazing - the
Ferrari seems to handle so well, and be so controllable that the demo just
seems like a bad dream now. 8-)

I'm still not fast, but I'm enjoying myself! I finally strung together a
decent lap at Spa and took 20 seconds off my previous best - still only a
3:30, but an improvement! With a bit of tweaking of the camber settings and
tire temps I've managed to get a regular 1:32 / 1:33 at Monza - maybe I need
to start thinking about gearing and ride heights and all the other stuff I
really don't understand at the moment!

I'm running on a k6-2/300 with 64MB RAM and a Voodoo 1; with a few options

and during a race, with all 19 AI drivers, low to mid 20's once underway
properly regardless of traffic on screen, dropping to about 18/19 when I
(inevitably) crash.

My question is - if I were to get a Voodoo2 card to replace my ageing
Voodoo1, would I get a performance boost with this set-up - or is the k6 not
powerful enough to show a major difference? If I would, any idea how much?
Could I run 800x600 even with the AI? Any help gratefully received.

Thanks,
Chaz

I don't know what controller you are using but I have been having trouble
keeping the car on the track with my joystick.  I've been changing the
camber settings to reflect the IMO temperatures, still having problems
staying on the track, I then zero'ed the camber settings and the car is
now much much more easier to drive.  I  might lose some grip but I may
gain some time because I can now brake later and get on the gas sooner.
