I got this response straight from Sony when I asked if there would be a PC
version of Grand Turismo:

" Sorry, its a PlayStation only title, and we're a PlaYStation only company.

A second hand PS isn't that expensive...

Paul"

Looks like i'll have to buy a Playstation, bummer.....

company.

Hmmm this looks very immature comming from a Sony rep.  Remember that they
ported MANY games on the PC, so by saying this they are lying.

Who told you this ? What were your source ?

1)  Then how do we explain all the other PSX titles released for PC?, and 2)
IF this was a real Sony response, the translation is probably:  "We're waiting
for everyone who will buy a PSX just to play this game to buy them before we
announce the PC version."

I got the same response from the contact on their web site:

so I guess they want to beef up the PS market just prior to releasing
PlayStation II.
We can wait for the play station emulators to get off the ground, though.
see http://personal.riverusers.com/~ka5ste/psx.html
we can't get it to work but watch his space. His site seems to be for other
people helping the development of PS emulators but I wish him luck.

All the PSX titles also released for PC are not made by Sony, but 3rd
parties.  On the other hand I've read in magazines that Sony plans to
release Gameday '99 on both the PSX and the PC.

Next you could ask them why then they have ported/published
Twisted Metal 2 and Jet Moto to the PC? There's a contradiction with
that statement and their previous actions.

True.

Neither is Gran Turismo made by Sony themselves, but
Polys/Polyphony Digital.

Sony has _published_ PC games in the past though, so that alone makes
their statement "sorry we are a Playstation-only company" quite odd.

Aww, don't say that.  You'll find its a nice system to own in addition
to your PC.  The two compliment each other nicely.
