GP3--Short Opinion

Well, since everyone else has had something to say I'll add my two
cents. First--the graphics are fine, not great but IMHO much better
than f12k (5 words re f12k: make the shimmering go away--this on a v5
with 4aa). People used to the phenomenal FF from GPL will be
disappointed--it took me a long time to get my LWFF to give me even
half the control and immersion of GPL (FF lag is a big problem here and
there are not tweaks to deal with it like in GPL)--I think the TSW
crowd is better equipped here. Weather effects are great, interface is
great if a bit convoluted--i ran f12k to remind me of how hideous an
interface can be ("its in the game"--no, it isn't?) The physics model
is very different from GPL and takes time to adjust but once you start
to accept it, it is quite serviceable--albeit somewhat less immersive
than GPL. As for canned spins? depends what you mean. you can catch
spins quite easily but i for one can't control them. By this i mean i
haven't been able to drift the car (but hey i suck at these sorts of
games so talk to the experts about this one). Racing is fun and the AI
cars behave quite realistically. I would rate this game pretty high in
the context of what you find on the shelves these days; a definite
picker upper. I think the *** race crowd will be a bit
disappointed though as it isn't as immersive as GPL. Still, it is
pretty darn fun.

Here is another A-s trying to tell himself that gp3 is great, Well its
not, And f1200
is still a better sim to drive

In your opinion maybe.  I personally prefer GP3 much more than F1 2000.  F1
2000 just doesn't "feel" right to me.  I don't know what it is.  Besides, I
don't really find F1 2000 at all fun.  If I want pure realism, I play GPL. If I
want a good, fun race with cars that behave pretty much like I would expect an
F1 car to behave, I play GP3.  And, "Blade", no need to be a total ass when
stating your opinions.  :-)

In all fairness, since I slagged f12k for graphics and interface, I
should have given it credit in the physics department. I think f12k has
a superior physics model to GP3. I won't argue with the "better sim to
drive" opinion either. However, GP3 is a funner sim to drive for me. I
fire it up whenever I get pissed off at GPL. Finally, what's an A-s?
Does this have something to do with my GPLRank handicap?

I know why F1 2000 doesn't feel right, they're modelling sand buggies
instead of F1 cars ;)

No, he's just saying that *he* likes it.  Did you even bother to read through
his whole post?

GP3 is definately better.

Try playing in monsoon conditions.  You'll start to appreciate it a
lot more.
