GP2: slowdown in serial connection mode

I have two Pentium connected by serial cable (COM1) running GP2 and Im
experiencing very strange things: the game seems to run in the same speed
as if there where no connection, but random and suddenly it suffers
catalepsis phenomenons: the image freeze for 1 to 3 seconds and then it
goes on. Anyone has experienced the same things? Anyone knows a solution?

I had this problem the first time I hooked up with a direct
connection,
You may want to try out different Baud rates, 9600 Worked for me.
