Super 1 Karting and Logi Momo?

Just got Super 1 Karting for Xmas and it is really good. The only problem I
am having is it seems to me that it requires way too much steering input. Is
there a way I can change my user settings to get the steering to react more
like a real kart?

Here is the user file info:

I wondered the same thing and spent a bit of time fiddling and then just
threw it in the trash (the game, not the wheel!).

It's a pretty good little game/sim, indeed. Google around the newsgroups
a bit, this problem has been addressed before, should be able to fix it.

Here's what I got from the Wingman Team board: (it seems to help)

I can't tell you, really (don't have the game), but this is just a rough
guess (if you don't mind messing around with the player file).

This line,

Joy1=0,65535,31000,33000,0,65535,28000,36000,0,0

looks much like it could be a description of ranges. My bet is,
min, max, deadzone left start, deadzone right start, and then a repetition
of the same.

If you change that to, say, the following, does that help?

Joy1=16384,49151,32256,33280,16384,49151,28672,36864,0,0

What I did was to increase the minimum by a quarter of the range, and
decrease the maximum by the same amount. I also made the suspected deadzone
fields symmetrical around the real center, with roughly the same range as
before.

In a parameterized form, this is what I did:

Fringe F (how much of the full range (65536) is not used, if you set it to
0, you will have to go lock-to-lock, if you set it to 16384 (a quarter of
full range), the left quarter and right quarter of motion will the "maxed
out area")

Deadzone width 1 DZ1 (in my example 512)
Deadzone width 1 DZ2 (in my example 4096)

Then, the line shapes up to be the following:

Joy1=0+F,65535-F,32768-DZ1/2,32768+DZ1/2,0+F,65535-F,32768-DZ2/2,32768+DZ2/2
,0,0

Don't know what Joy2 is, but you could try the same values.

Of course this could be completely wrong, and you should back up the
previous values first ;)
