N2002 and Voodoo5?

by bertr » Sat, 16 Feb 2002 07:19:30

Is anybody whose bought the retail version of N2002 using it with a
Voodoo5 card?  I'd be curious about its performance (framerates. etc),
as the demo had some artifacts on screen with the V5.

My system is an Athlon XP1700+ with 512 Megs RAM, and I'm wondering if
it's worthwhile getting N2002.  How does it's performance compare with
N4 (which I already have installed)....

Thanks.

I haven't had any problems with the demo, in fact I get a little
better framerate with NR2002 than I did with N4

What drivers and OS are you using?
I'm using the 3Dfx 1.04.01 beta drivers with Win98SE

My system:

ECS K7S5A
Athlon XP 1700+
256meg PC133

Mandrake 8.1
Win98 SE

Thanks for the info...

I'm using Driver # 4.12.01.0666 dated 11-2-2000 with Win98SE.

The artifacts in the demo were prety minor -- the track appeared red in the distance.  I also thought that
the demo framrates were a bit better than the N4 frame rates.

So it appears that the framerates in the retail version are also a  bit better than N4?

I have a V5 and Win98SE. I had the same red track in the distance in the
demo. I was going to hold off buying N2002, but I heard that you could use
OpenGL so I'm hoping that will fix the problem.

the distance.  I also thought that
