F1RS unplayable on Celeron 450a

I just upgraded my system from a PPro 200/Voodoo2 to Celeron 450a/SLI and
now F1RS is unplayable because it runs *way* too fast!  I timed the clock in
the game (the one that times your laps, etc.) and 1 minute on that clock
equals about 35 seconds real time.  It's like watching the game in fast
forward.

Does anybody have a solution to this??!!  This sucks, I haven't even
scratched the surface of this game yet!

This is a wild guess: the game has to synchronize itself to real time
somehow.  If the relative speed of the PC is measured during
installation and then saved to hard disk you would end up like that.
I would try to delete some ini-files (assuming the game can rebuild
them) of reinstall the game.

Does your PC display time correctly?

Yeah, try running your Celeron at it's correct speed, 300Mhz.

My PC keeps time perfectly, and I had already reinstalled everything from
scratch.  UBIsoft says it is probably due to overclocking (they had other
reports like this from O/Cers) and they won't do anything about it. :-(

Thanks for you suggestion though.

Well what about people with normal P2-400's? Is this still
a problem? Or is this only a problem with overclocked
Celery CPU's?

Excellent question.  This is precisely what I'm looking to find out.  I'm
out and about searching for info.  Anyone who reads this please let me know
if you hear something or if you are running a non-overclocked machine with
the 100MHz FSB and can test this.

Thanks!
