Nascar 2 suddenly choppy and unplayable

Hellos
I got N2 when it came out in early December.  I played it using the regular
N2.bat and it was nice and smooth with everything except ground texture on.  I
have a Dell 166 with 16 megs of SDram.  Then towards the end of December I got
the Screamin 3D card and installed it no problem.  Then I ran N2 and it was
beautious and wonderful.  I ran it with everything on except ground texture and
it was smooth and great.  Then my cd rom stopped working for some reason, I
probably didn't reconnect the wire that connects the cdrom card to the
motherboard, so I opened it up and put the wire back in.  Since then (I'm not
really sure if the N2 problems started right after I did this, or awhile after)
N2 is unplayable.  When going around turns it gets really choppy.  When I hit
any of the F keys, especially F2, I get 1/2 second pauses.  The odd thing is
that Indy2 Renditionized and Quake Renditionized seem to work just fine, as do
everything else on my computer.  I run everything from dos.  I just formatted
my hard drive and reinstalled just dos and N2 and it still does the same thing.
Anyone have any ideas?

Are you sure you're running the renddma.bat file for Nascar2?

Another thing to check, even though the video card may not be actually
using an IRQ, it grabs one to be PCI compliant.  Try resetting the PnP
in your BIOS.

Nascar 2 suddenly choppy and unplayable

Yup, renddma.bat.  I've also tried just running the n2rend.exe file,
I've tried from W95, I've tried turning every thing off.  No textures,
no car colors, no stands.  It still does the exact same thing.  I
thought maybe something could've happened to my hardware, but I can't
imagine something that would only affect N2.  At least it seems like
that's all it's affecting.  Any suggestions...

Billy
