Please advise me. I have a P133 32MB RAM Win 95 quad speed CDrom and a
2MB Stealth Graphics Card. I'm looking for a fun arcade style racing
game which will run well on my system. Any help welcome.

Scott,
Bang for the buck grab The Need for Speed. It's fast, involves police
chases and it's just plain fun. I've got both NFS and NFSII. NFSII needs
more horsepower (P166 en route Thursday) and doesn't include the fuzz.
Enjoy,
Glenn
Hi Scott,
I have a similar system and find that Screamer 2 moves along at an awesome
rate. It has competetive computer opponents and several multiplayer
options. Nice game all round.

Scott,
I would have to second gettting Need for Speed SE, Need for Speed 2
has gotten mixed reviews, and it might be a bit of a risk. But for
arcade gameplay, fun tracks and that sports car feel, NFSSE rocks.
RAC Rally Championship is also a very entertaining arcade rally racer.
It was just released in the US, it has a lot of playability, very fun.
For silly fun arcade racing there is also Big Red Racing, which you
could probably find used on 'comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.marketplace', it's
a very helpful newsgroup for finding games used and cheap. I've had a
lot of luck with it. Big Red is not as flashy on graphics, but it's
crazy and you get to race off-road vehicles, boats, all kinds.
Come to think of it, your best bet is to go to a demo download site
such as The Adrenaline Vault (http://avault.com/pcrl/sims_racing) and
just try out some of the games out there. They have a whole racing sim
section. (even though these are technically not 'sims..)
Motoracer just came out, it's a motorcycle racing game, very arcady
and full of graphics. Fun stuff.
POD and Monster Truck Madness are cool as well.
As far as your system goes, don't worry too much. My last system was
almost identical to yours, with less RAM, and it ran just about each
of these games at a respectable rate.
Boy I blab on and on....oh well..
oh yeah, in my opinion some games to avoid might be:
1. Destruction Derby 1 (haven't played 2 much, but the first one got
old pretty fast.)
2. Dayton USA, once again limited play..
3. Test Drive Off Road: I really enjoyed this at first, but the
graphics are choppy, and it seems to just not stand up to other games.
4. Power F1 : from Eidos, make up your own mind. Some people must
enjoy this, but more than not I've heard bad things. The demo seemed
pretty uneventful.
5. Virtual Karts: Boring, again from demo play.
So that's my arcade racing review, the abridged version. Have fun
racing!

Try Screamer 2. Or nfs. Or Interstate 76.
Try Screamer 2. or Motox or nfs2 . But screamer 2 is probably what
you are looking for. It just like crusin' usa if ya like that game.
