Ask anybody in IGPS (two seasons of league racing using GPL) if I will
sit and officiate a race.  I have been known to watch my GPL league race
replays *in their entirety* as many as 2 dozen times to make sure I
didn't miss something.  I *do* officiate, and only a couple of people
have ever ***ed about me doing so (and that was because they got caught
doing something stupid).  It got to the point that they started telling
me ahead of time about questionable moves that they made because they
knew I'd eventually see it.

It pays to rule even-handedly with an iron fist.

No, because future Papyrus titles will have a gate system like in Grand Prix
Legends.  And btw Scott, it is not that easy to just "cut the course". You
make it think like it's an easy thing that will make everybody lap Riverside
over 113.  I don't cut too much.  I will loose too much time.  I would
rather turn a little left in the Esses before to have a clean line for the
turn exit and run in the sand after.

If they fix it, I'll be happy to race the way they want us to race after.
But as a fast driver I will try to find everything possible to do it. Per
example in GPL, many drivers go in the grass at the Hatzenbath(sp?), but
they do it at the limit that the gates make it possible.  They also do after
the Plflanzgarten where you will find a couple of fast downhill esses.

But to say something to John also.. If the server that Im inside racing ask
me politely to stop using the line, I will do it.  Im a gentlemen, yes I
want to be as fast as possible but as the host he has the right to tell me
what do to.  I expect those sort of things.

Not sure why you give them the benefit of actual intelligence, but the AI
ignore nothing - they only follow the instructions placed before them.
Think of them as a bunch of trained monkeys, if you will.

Forgive me for barging in on what possibly ought to be a private
conversation, but Frank has long impressed me as one of the most even-handed
and gentlemanly people in this newsgroup.  I've seen nothing in this thread
which changes my opinion.

On the other hand, the other fellow .  . .well. . . never mind.

David, I'm not sure who your referring to, me or John with that last
sentence, but-- "never mind"?

If it's me----
Don't go making round about insults then back out of it with "never
mind". Please finish the thought. Let me, as well as others know what
you mean? It's obvious you don't agree with us(me and John), which is
absolutely fine, but to chime in only to make degrading insinuations is,
to use your own words, pretty ungentlemenly like don't you think? Your
backing of Frank is fine, and I don't have a prob with it, nor should I.
If you had left it after the first paragraph, there would be no response
from me now. If you like him, that's your perogative. I can't and won't
try to change that. On the other hand, I personally don't like him.
Because I don't like ANYONE with ego problems and Franks's fluctuates,
but sometimes gets to be the size of a small country. But again, you and
I are entilted to like different people for different reasons. But from
what I gather in your post, you are insuating I'm not a gentlemen, and
that I'm not even-handed. Why? Because I don't agree with the
self-proclaimed "super genius" Frank? Or is it that you don't like the
way I disagree? Either way is fine by me, but if your going to take the
time to post that you do not like me or my opinions, then take the time
to post why.
Last time I checked I was free to express my opinions here. About
Frank, about Riverside, about anything regarding sim-racing. And you
were free to disagree with them. But your only contibution to this
entire thread was a semi-disguised insult. Do you know me? Have we met?
Have we raced together? There are plenty of people who post to this
board that I think are less then stellar characters, but -I- have enough
common sense not to publicly judge those that I do not know. You know
enough of Frank to judge his as you stated above, so do I. You do not
know me, which you have stated above, therefore have no room for
judgement yet. Please keep your premature characther judging to
yourself. Good day sir.

If it's John----
Disregard the previous paragraph. John can fight his own battles. LOL

I'm not talking about being "gentlemanly", I'm talking about being a
sportsman, which Frank obviously IS NOT...

As for me, I'm not here to impress anyone, and I go to great strides to
keep from doing so.  If I've succeeded in that, good.  If not, I can give
you the address of my fan club...

Me? Ego trip ?  You must be one of those pissed-off TEN users who whined all
the time and didn't liked me as a NROS Guide.  Tell us what _you really_
feel...

The day you understand that signature files are simply there as a sarcastic
approach to each's inner-himself, you'll regret saying that.  Yet you care
about things that everybody knows is meanless (a simply Calvin&Hobbes joke).

You know me enough ???? I don't you know, I have never raced against you
probably and don't even know your TEN screename.  You have no idea of who I
am, what are my default/qualities, what I like, what I dislike, what are my
problems, whats my height/weight, how is my health, etc..  Yet you think you
know me ? And you think you have the knowledge to write such things about me
?

And look at what you just wrote below ! Hello Pot, Meet Mr. Kettle !!!

Well somehow..

For "you", cutting the course is not ok.  The grey zone is obviously not
going that far.  But "your" opinion of being a sportsman is just an opinion.
Most of the people I know, from GPL online and N3 online know that Im a
sportsman.  I wouldn't be in HGNS if I wasn't a sportsman and a gentleman.

Still the point is.  Papyrus allows us to be 1.5seconds in the sand at this
particular track in this particular sim.  Why don't you say anything about
everything else that is in our virtual world that has an unfair advantage
???

The Arcade view, unrealistic setups, some Fxx windows, modifying the
track.dat for a more clearer view of the track, having a speedometer, etc..
Do you see my point? All those things should be also mentioned if for you
cutting the course gives you an unfair advantage.  But of course you will
probably say that those arguments are non-sense <g>

But do not call me a sportsman, because by doing that yourself you aren't a
sportsman.

Well, first off Frank, I never dealt with you on TEN when you were a
guide because starting -about- 9 months ago the only time I would log on
would be for OSCAR races or practice, but I do know of the instances you
refer to and they happened much more recent than that, and in fact I
somewhat sympathized with you when that whole situation arose.
I told you what I really feel in the last post. Why do you keep doing
this. This is the second or third time now in this thread someone has
explained themselves, and then you ask them to tell you how they feel.
Are you not reading the posts? Or are your retention skills lacking? I
don't like people who have ego problems. Yours tends to be a problem
sometimes. What don't you understand about that. And if your waiting for
particular instances, then your shit out of luck, because I'm not going
to do it publicly just so you can have more stuff to feed off of.

Hey listen Frank. I regret saying it now only because I didn't know it
was a C&H line. I am a big Calvin&Hobbes fan but just don't remember all
the jokes that were told. But you coulda done one little thing to
prevent myself, and others in the past, from mistaking it as a personal
quote. Put a credit to the strip after the quote. Simple and the proper
thing to do anyway. I apologize for thinking it was a personal quote.
But the way you use it now, it's VERY easily mistable as one.

Sure. I've been reading your posts and opinions for -about- 2 years now.
I know plenty about you.

Well, I HAVE raced you in the past once or twice(quite a while ago, so
I'll let that pass), and have been involved in past discussions with you
both at Jacob's NG, and the old TEN NG. Your memory is lacking that's
all.

Again, not my fault. I have communicated with you in the past on several
occasions, all under my screenname, which by the way is show in my NG
ID. If you just took the time to look.

Where as I may not know such things as what your height and weight are,
I'm sure there are plenty of people who you would consider good friends
in this community who do not know either. Your point has no validity.
Plus I could just go back to the old TEN NG and do a search for the
pictures you posted of yourself a few months ago and approximate your H
and W anyway. Frank you post here, and Jacob's regularly, and have even
posted pictures of yourself, yet cringe at the fact that someone may not
like everything they see about you. Grow up. But from the pictures it
looked like your only what 17, 18? You have plenty of maturing yet to
come.

Some difference here Frank. Like I said before, I have been reading your
posts and opinions for -about- 2 years now. The original poster,
admitted himself, he knew me from this thread only. HUGE difference. So
take your Pot and Kettle and go back to the kitchen.

First of all it's a fun thread.  A little more and Im bringing back
LeChicken  haha! (inside r.a.s. joke)

<snip>  Since you were obviously not pissed at me for being a NROS Guide I
retake that remark.  As you may or may not know, I was considered by many as
a traitor for being associated with TEN.  I was told that numbers of time,
and attacked by many.  So it's normal I assume that since you were a
previous NROS drivers that was the reason.

Whatever the situation, a signature file should never be taken seriously.
Here is a nice website with hundreds of .sig file for you to laugh.  And
think that those people post them actually in their message! Do they think
what is written ? Nope, any usenet regular should know that.  And no need
for a credit since it's a little different (the famous realise/realize).  So
stop taking this seriously, that's the trick on the Usenet.

Outshined yes I situate your screename now.

The Newsgroup message detention was a month on the old t.g.s.n.  FYI Im
5feet11inches and 7/8 (I still wish I can grow at 20years old of a eight of
an inch to go to the magic 6feet bar ;)    ).

Your wrong !!!!!!! You clearly ow him and I an apology.  Re-read what he
said and you would know there is no difference between him and you.  But
please do not go and judge me, but on the other case you say that people
can't judge you :

--------
Forgive me for barging in on what possibly ought to be a private
conversation, but Frank has long impressed me as one of the most even-handed
and gentlemanly people in this newsgroup.  I've seen nothing in this thread
which changes my opinion.
--------

All this for cutting a ***y corner for a second and a half...

Petty did cut the apex at turn 6 closer than most. He would drop the
inside
front tire off the inside of the turn and use it like the guide flag of
a slot car to hold the car tight. He was the only person to do this
consistantly.
I spent a lot of time in turn 6. No one ever cut the track "every lap"
as
in the game. I get the impression that the guys at Papyrus looked at
highlight shots, which of course show things that don't normally happen.

While there are off road excersions from time to time, the dirt does not
offer the same traction as pavement. Staying on the road is/was faster.

We need someone with .LP experience to edit the line to the one used
99.99%
of the time.

Other than the line, Riverside is fantastic. Ontario is done almost
perfectly
also. I spent some time at that track also.

Very good point, these are also ways of cheating.  Except the F displays,
they're simulating info you could get over the radio.
