Gamecards: thrustmaster vs. Ch products

Since there is a thread running about the importance of using a dedicated
gamecards rather than the joystick port on a soundcard, I'm curious if there
are strong opinions one way or the other on the cards offered by CH products
and Thrustmaster?

Gamecards: thrustmaster vs. Ch products

-----------------------------------------------
The CH Products Gamecard 3 seems a little smoother than my
SoundBlaster 16 game port because it offers slightly  greater
sensitivity and range of control  with my Thrustmaster GP1 wheel. My
experience differs greatly from someone like Eric Cote, who sings the
praises of the GC3 on his web site
(http://www.racesimcentral.net/~ericcote/gp2menu.html).

The joysticks and wheels or wheel/pedal combos I used with my Sound
Blaster all worked quite well, so I probably wouldn't notice too much
difference between it and the dedicated game card. On the other hand,
someone who has had problems getting their controllers to run off of
their sound card might see a world of difference when using a
dedicated game controller card.

If you have a spare $25 to invest into your computer *** hardware,
a card may be a worthwhile purchase, especially if you aren't getting
good performance from the game port on your sound card . . . but I
don't know if it's essential.
