Let me start by saying I love sims but I am not a gifted sim head who does
super hot laps on GPL.  I'm an average driver with a TSW2 wheel and I know
how to drive.  I certainly can appreciate a nice sim-lite as long as there
is some physics and fun.  Now onto this junk.  What a disaster.  Terrible
graphics.  I mean awful.  Dull, unimaginative, booooring.   Physics?  None
present.  No where near a simulation.  Not even anything that remotely
represents driving.  More like a train ride around the track.  The car turns
around it's center of gravity, what the hell is that about.  Canned spins
when you hit the sand or grass.   You spin in some random direction
regardless of which way you turn your wheel.  Impossible to spin the car on
the track unless you have no skill whatsoever.  This was in the FULL
simulation mode.  It's less realistic than most arcade modes in other games.
I turned a solid lap first time around the track.  I didn't leave the track
once.  I don't even know the damn track.  I should have been all over the
place considering how fast I came up on the corners.  It was ridiculously
easy.  What's the point?  Who will buy this?  Only bright spot was the
sound.  Cars in the distance sound good as they pass on a nearby parallel
section of track.  No wonder Eidos hasn't promoted this, it has nothing to
offer.

Based on the demo this is a spot on analysis.
Who said the graphics were awesome? The resolution is high but that's about
that. Compared to GPL, MGPRS2, TOCA2 or SBK these graphics are just plain
unrealistic. (Notice how the car floats over the track rather than hugging it.
Notice the cartoon rain effects.)
Controller calibration makes SCGT look a doddle.
As you say sound is good - so what you do is port the sounds to MGP!!
Cheers,
Paul

You think anyone can leech the sound out of this game and port it
to F1RS or MGPRS2?
