GP3 setups

I have tried a lot of the setups one can download (Stuhrman's, the Brazilian
guy's, etc) and with most of them, I can't get around the track - spinning out
in tight corners usually, the worst when the differnece between front and rear
wing angles is largest. I have developed my own setups that will let me beat the
AI drivers in qualifying and racing at most of the venues, except on these
tracks: Germany, Belgium, abnd Japan.

I am particularly frustrated at Spa. It is my favorite track and I am
consistently almost 2 seconds slower than the AI drivers ( 1:52 vs. 1:50).

Any set-ups that work for you on these tracks I might try?

My machine is a p4 1500 with a 64mb DDR NVIDIA GeForce2 Ultra running at
10224x768x16, controller is a basic Logitech Wingman joysstck. I run in what my
son calls "wimp modes" - Rookie or Amateur. I just race for fun.

Thanks in advance

Have the same problem with setups downloaded from the internet. Can
only go 1 tour rather fast and have than go to the pits.
Will you email me your setups for Germany , Belgium and Japan so I can
find out if these does it for me.
Many thanks in advance,

With regard to downloaded setups you're facing two problems, Geoff (apt name
for a GP3 simmer ;-)). One: some of these are designed for hotlapping, not
racing, and employ settings to take advantage of loopholes in the GP3 model
(which one has to know how to exploit), making them very hard to control.
Two: most setups will have been designed with wheel control in mind.

Rolling your own is indeed your best bet. I suggest setting the rear wing so
you get a bit more top speed than the AI as those ***s (even lapped
traffic) like nothing better than trying to slingshot the player, which is
most annoying. Front wing should be set a couple notches higher. Adjust ride
height as to not drag the plank either end (touching is on bumps or in
braking zones is ok) as you go along. Once that's established, it's
important to look at the telemetry for a good lap and take a closer look at
the suspension travel trace. Trim out any leftover travel with packers, it
makes for brisker car response and better "communication". Unless you really
dislike the slow to medium speed handling of the car, I'd leave the other
settings alone for the time being.

That should suffise to beat the Rookie or Amateur AI anywhere, provided
you're not using driving aids like throttle and braking help as they will
slow you down quite a lot.
