N3 Online/WON Question

by KWS » Fri, 26 Jan 2001 11:47:12

Hello All,

Just doing a random sampling from the NG -

When trying to login to multiplayer in N3 have any of you gotten the
following message:

"Login failed - Titan server connection closed unexpectedly or unique CD Key
already in use.  Please try again later."

BTW - for those that have gotten it, does it always happen at the time you
don't want it to happen, such as, when trying to get into your weekly league
race?????

Is there a fix or a tweak that can be done to avoid getting this f*#king
message?

Friggin' 'puters anyway....   :-)

Thanks in advance!

I've seen it once in a while...usually just have to try and log in again.
I think
it is similar to a timed out message...in other words,  when you tried to
log on, the servers couldn't be found or your password couldn't be verified
in the
set amount of time that Won or Papyrus has set.(60 seconds?)
I can't say for sure, but I can't think of a time when just relogging
didn't fix
it...unless the whole won server package was down...

I think it's their way of telling you the Won servers are down temporarily.

KWS,

This will also occur on occassion if you log on, then log off (or get booted
completely out of N3, computer crash, etc.), then try to log back on right
away.  The WON servers still show you as being logged on and therefore won't
let you reconnect with the same CD key.  It will clear itself eventually
(e.g. 10 minutes or less I think), but in the meantime you will be left to
do TCP/IP only connections.
