The most annoying thing about GPL (which I love) is that I consistently get
rammed from behind by the really fast drivers when they are lapping me (even
though I feel I am trying hard to stay out of their way).

Will the new patch fix the fast drivers so they will do a better job of not
ramming me from behind at the end of those long fast straights?

The only egregious case of this that we're aware of is heading into the
Parabolica at Monza, and this instance is addressed by the patch.
Aside from that, if you're on the racing line, and you brake
significantly earlier than the "normal" braking zone, then you will
probably get rear ended (as you likely would if you did so in real
life).  If the leaders are coming up to lap you (you'll should be shown
the blue flag), move safely off line on a straight, and brake while not
on the racing line, thus giving them the corner.

Will the patch also address the abysmal slowness of the AI
in the last left hand corner leading into La Source at Spa?
I can take it at 165mph with out sliding and the AI takes
it MUCH, much slower and is tail sliding to boot.

All versions are built and wrapped as installable .exe's, and these are
being tested.  The gpl.exe progam itself has been tested, and I don't
believe there are any remaining issues with it.  So, when?  I don't
know.

I'd noticed the new LP files for Monza in patch info and guessed that might be
it, after all the complaints here on r.a.s..  It also seems to be a bit of a
problem at the Nurburgring, going into the Nordkehere left-hander after the
second long straight.  A number of times I've been there under braking, holding
my line as well as my distance to the car ahead, and gotten plowed from behind.
Not quite as glaring as in Parabolica, true; but the certainly the next-most
common place this crops up, at least in my experience.  Anyone else noticed
this?

Cheers,

Steve B.

No, it won't address this.

Hi Steve. Yes, I've noticed this too. I just move off the line and get
the inside line into the corner. It's a bit frustrating, because the
AI cars come from such a long way back and still hit you.

These two (Monza & Ring) are the only places I've had this happen to
me.
