3DFX patches

Hi,

Only been reading this group for a short time and haven't seen anything
regarding SODA Racing Sim. Is it an outcast here?  I heard there was a
3DFX patch comming for this sim. Has anyone heard of this?  Also re: the
IRC2/Cart there was talk of a patch for this also, but I couldn't really
tell from the posts here if it was b/s or not. Does anyone really know?

I've tried the N2 3DFX patch and after a little tweeking of the batch
file it looks as good as the Rendition version but much smoother. No
real complaints. I like it alot!

If the same could be done for IRC2 and Soda life would be good.

There are some real SODA die-hards lurking here and there.  The 3DFX
patch was cancelled.  I wonder who made this decision, as most of the
work would more than likely have been done by the 3DFX people (ala
NASCAR2).  I think the ICR2/Cart patch was just a "vicious" rumor.

Well then maybe I will be glad I ordered the Thriller 3D card. Will find out
tomorrow as it arrived today. Hope its better than my V1000 board, not that I
have any complaint about it,
works very well actually.  I just like trying new hard ware and my kids get the
old stuff anyway.

Not really, but I guess everyone is playing other sims right now.

Sierra has completely abandoned SODA. There will be NO patch for this sim! I
thought there was an official statement made by Sierra/Papyrus about this
issue.

Not me, but think of it: Sierra/Papyrus needs all their men and women to get
GPL and NASCAR3 released in time. I don't think they will release a patch
for a sim that is 2 years old!

I agree! :-)

Cheers!

Harald
