Anyone care to comment on my asking if the momo wheel and pedal set is any
good in Nascar 2002. Looking at buying one to replace my AVB force feed. Is
the MoMo a better wheel and how does it work with N2002. TIA. Douglas

Cant speak if it is better than AVB (never heard of it) but the Momo wheel
is what won me over to FFB.  I have tried out past MS & Logi FFB wheels but
always went back to my TSW.  Havent used the TSW since getting the Momo
configured.

The Momo Wheel itself is first class.  It has absolutely ZERO play in the
shaft (due to the ball bearing supports, I suppose) and the force feedback
is smooth and powerful.  It is gear driven, so a _bit_ of grind is
inevitable but it wears in nicely.

Oh, but the pedals :(  Again, Logitech gives us a set of pedals that should
say "International Harvester" on the side :(

I personally do not find them much better than the originals.  They are too
small, and the swivel points are ALL wrong.

IMHO :)

So I take it Larry that the wheel is great but the pedals are not that good.
Is it possible to mix/sub the pedals from a better type..........

Currently with my AVB Wheel I am limited in reassigning the buttons are they
reassignable on the MoMo and in particular are the views changeable from the
wheels buttons.

Brian..how can you use the momo pedals after using the tsw's?  I can
understand the wheel part but I am so used to my tsw pedals everything else
feels like a toy (haven't tried new act labs)

Curious on your thoughts..

I love my MOMO in NR2002, and all other sims for that matter. The Wingman
software will let you program the buttons to just about anything you want.
I use my buttons for autochat messages in NR2002. The pedals are the week
point of the MOMO design. You really can't swap them out with another set,
but in games like NR2002 that will see more than one controller you can use
a 3rd party set of pedals. I have just gotten use to them so its not a big
deal for me.

Ditto here, while the Momo was the only FFB wheel I have tried, it has
replaced my TSW2 as my wheel of choice.

You can program them to do whatever you want.  Like others, mine are
set for autochat.
As reported, the pedals are lame, but at least you can do something
about the brake - the well publicised squashball mod works like a
dream.  I'll be surprised if there's any other brake pedal out there
that feels as good as a modded MOMO brake.  I'm getting used to the
pedals, but heel and toeing is pretty difficult.  If you don't use a
clutch i.e. you're a left foot braker, you will adapt to the pedals
without too much of a problem.

Swapping out the pedals completely is not possible as the power supply
runs through the pedal base unit before running up to the wheel.  I
have in the past used a set from a TM NASCAR Pro which worked quite
well (apart from the clutter) but if a game will not properly see
multiple controllers you're screwed.  Why oh why are Papy the only
developer who can get controller config right?...

GPL and N2K2 allow me to use a MOMO Force, NASCAR Pro, USB clutch
*and* USB Shifter without a problem.  Papy should licence out their
controller config routines.

Uh-oh gone all off topic...

I don't know because I haven't tried.

I'd love to be able to use the Momo Wheel and the pedals from my MSFFW.
Personally, I think the MSFFW has the best pedals of an consumer-class wheel
set.

He's probably still using his TSW pedals. It's NOT compulsory to use the
one that come with the MOMO, you know?

Yes, if your running the Papy sims, luck of the draw with all the other
dross! F12002 allows mix and match, though.
