Logitech FF Wheel - Paddle Questions

by Tim A. Deatherag » Sun, 18 Jul 1999 04:00:00

Hey gurus !

I just read that the Logitech FF wheel has paddles.

Can the paddles be used as gas and brake ???? I can't drive with pedals and
I want something more sophisticated that my TM Sprint and TM GP1!

Logitech FF Wheel - Paddle Questions

Tim, I wish I had good news for you but...the paddles on the LWFF do not
have pots like the GP1 or the Sprint, so unless you can deal with on/off
switches for throttle and brake, they will not work.

Tim,
If you're not physically disabled in your lower extremities (and
-really- can't drive with pedals), I'd say give the Logitech FF wheel
(along with those pesky pedals) a try. I was also "unable" to drive with
pedals, being so used to my TM GP1. I bought a MSFF wheel a few months
ago and it felt so strange (switching over from the GP1's paddle
throttle/brake) that I ended up taking the thing back to the store for a
refund after only one day. With the GPL patch 1.1 and FF, I simply -had-
to try another FF wheel and (of course) I picked up the Logitech. To cut
it short, I stuck it out with the pedals (they suit me just fine having
never used any others except for the brief stint with the MSFF wheel)
and have really gotten used to them. It's really a great wheel/pedal
combo...you may be missing out on some great driving by bypassing it
because of the pedal issue.
