CMR locking up in Australia

Every time I try to run a race in Australia (rally or career mode), CMR locks
up halfway through the stage load.  I have the medium install (300+ Mb) and it
works just fine in all other respects (although the driver has some serious
shortcomings).  I have installed the patch as well.  Anyone else experienced
this?  Thanks.
