I'm not sure you guys are really up to something there.

I have the same experience that sometimes for whatever reasons my laptimes
just aren't where they should be, but I usually find out that it's either my
driving because then at one point the fast laps come back, or if they don't,
nobody else is faster than me either, so it seems to affect everyone else as
well and can be put down to environmental conditions apparently. Remember
the Nx series does simulate the movement of air at certain stages of the
race _apart_ from normal wind, for example, although I don't know to which
extent.

If you're the only one affected by it in a race, I'd consider it a safe
guess its your driving ;-)

The #43 BlueDOT Glass Windex Monte Carlo was awesome and was running
pretty good all day.  I knew we could keep up with the leaders and if we
managed our tires and fuel correctly, we'd be in contention for the win.
The pit crew was awesome, especially the awesome jack man. We hired him
away from Jeff Gordon and he has a thing for awesome jack handles, but
we thinkhe's getting over that (and that's simply awesome).  He did an
awesome job on our one and only awesome pit stop.  I couldn't ask for a
more awesome crew chief either - ***le McDangle really deserves kudos
for an awesome job.  Of course, we have awesome sponsors too.  BlueDOT
Glass signed the big check late in the season, and we're happy to have
performed so awesomely for them.  Pocono is an awesome track and the
fans are awesome, and awesome awesome awesome with awesome and plenty of
awesome from down deep in awesome awesome awesome.  Lastly, awesome.  I
really mean that.

Did you recalibrate your controller?

Truthfully, I didn't even deserve to be in that RACE... :(

I pulled out of it. I was driving badly and was having a hard time with the
setup. I felt it safer and more fun for all if I left.

Eldred, you did just fine (you weren't last - grin).  Just go ahead and
join the races, drive your best, and have some fun.

For Eldred, ZZ, and anyone else that feels the same way they do):

If you feel like you don't have a handle on the car, ease up a bit on
the speed, and don't take any chances.  Believe me when I say that the
car will come to you if you persist at trying to find it.

I'm most certainly not the fastest guy here (middle of the pack
practice/qual/finish).  I drive with the mindset to not crash or spin
regardless of the outcome of the race.  Many times, that means lifting
earlier for the turns, braking a little longer than is really necessary,
and stabbing the gas later than you should have to.

In all honesty, I think GPL made me a better stockcar driver because I
learned that car control is much more important than speed, and that the
better you can control your car, the more speed you will have.

It's a mindset, pure and simple.  You guys have it, you just have to
realize it for yourselves.

Maybe, but I still think it's fishy :)  Btw, it was fixed weather, no
wind.   In my case, the grip level was very obviously, dramatically,
increased from minutes before.

I think it's safe to say it wasn't my driving style, not when the
difference is seconds, not tenths, and I was several seconds off the slowest
car's pace  :)
