I seem to be in a *** mood tonight...but you say NO FAULT of your own.
hmmm<engage Mike Wallace Mode>
MW:  But isn't it true you WENT to the open server?
OP:  Well I did but I didn't go there on purpose
MW:  But isn't it true you already KNEW the open servers are nothing more
than crash fests?
OP:  Well...I uhmm I have heard that rumour yes.
MW:  But isn't it true, if you had stayed on your tried and true server,
your LPI would be vastly greater than it is now?
OP:  OK OK, so It still wasn't my fault!
MW:  But isn't it true that open servers are akin to racing for the
Devil's spawn, the same as covering up the ***ive nature of nicotine?  Or
the outlandish idea that some sim-racers drive their cars by floating above
and behind them like some 'out of body' experience and the same as a
cheap-A$$ CEO stealing BAZILLIONS of a dollars  all the while crying he's
too poor to fund a decent CART sim?
  OP:  Wha???
MW:  But isn't it true that IF you had listened to your inner child, you'd
still have that nice safe LPI rating, that having that rating, you'd earn
the respect of all those who clicked on your name and held down the
shift-ctrl keys and stared in wide-eyed amazement at your deft car control
as displayed by the said same LPI rating?

there that about sums up my feelings tonight!  :)
sorry you were in the headlights Owen...

I race on open servers all the time.  My LPI is about 26.  It doesn't
fluctuate much even after a bad night.  It sounds like you need to
give yourself some time for the law of averages to catch up to you.

Don't get wrapped up too much on who was at fault in an incident.  If
you look deep enough, you can almost always find a way to at least
partially blame yourself.  Ideally, you *should* do this, so that you
just might possibly find a way of avoiding similar trouble in the
future.

Part of being successful is being able to dodge trouble.  Try to look
at every single incident as a learning opportunity.  Ask yourself:
"What could I have done differently that would have changed the
outcome?"  Usually, I can find something, and I suspect you can too.

Don't get discouraged.  Don't get mad, especially.  Make your own
luck.  Always have fun.

HTH,
Gerald
