N4 - LPI and ratings linked?

N4 - LPI and ratings linked?

by Dave Pawlikowsk » Tue, 19 Jun 2001 01:18:33

I have a question -

I was a 8SS, 4 SW and 5 RC rated under the old system with an LPI over about
1200. Recently, I was stuck on a 5SS and a LPI bouncing between 22 and 29.
My RC was 1. Both would not go any higher in spite of no DNF's and finishing
ahead of my qualifying position.

I made a point of always finishing no matter what because many players would
drop right out after a wreck. Through attrition, I would always do well (
top 10, top 20, etc ). However, being caught in wrecks, wreckers carnage etc
was killing my LPI.

My SS and RC ratings never moved after they hit the current plateau. No
matter winning, top 5, etc. Is there a direct link between you jumping to a
6 rating and your LPI?

I started a new name last night and after 5 races have two wins, two seconds
and a fifth. Only one crash - wrecker caused - and I now have a 2SS rating
and an LPI of 86. It seems to me I received the two rating awfully fast.
Link to LPI?

Has anyone figured out how the new rating system works? Thanks!

Dave. I believe Uncle Fester can answer this but the way I was told from
the old rating & new is: You get IC an now even if you are rear ended &
not the cause of an IC=Incident Caused. Also this puts a direct change in
your detailed info with the 8 [or is it 9?] races listed with  + or -
numbers
for each race! This really holds you back from going up in the ratings and
personally the IC stinks now!! Too many wreckers and clowns now too!
jmo...Thom_j.

Thom - where do i find my IC?

On the cool down lap, people wreck and crash into one another. Do those
count towards your IC?

Why do I get an IC if I'm rear ended?????

Thanks..

When you are in any lobby just hightlight your N4 name, click the letter
"P" at the bottom & then on your keyboard hit your "left" Ctrl-Shift and
it will all pop'up.. ok?
From the Pace Lap to the Checkered Flag I've got ICs but never after
the Checker tho... [This is coming from my experience and complaints
in the lobbys]
As I was told: In the new ratings no matter if you hit or they hit you it's
considered an IC now! Before only if you caused the accident aka IC
then you would get an IC.. I dont write the info just report it poorly..
Weird..huh?? Thom_j.

I have one league that races on Sierra, the rest via IP.  I have about
10 -12 races 5 of those pickup races, with a few wins.  I push, but learned
not to do too many stupid things like take chances, when you can get a
better situation down the road. :)
