CART Racing by Sierra - A Bargain No More...

Just a heads up...

I spied a brand_spankin'_newly_designed Sierra CART Racing box on the
store shelf, and simply by habit, picked it up to have a look at the
price.  Strange...a bit light.  Ah yes, they've gone and removed the
swell book by Steve Smith, and at the same time not lowering the list
price of the sim ($19.95).

Shame, shame...All that money spent for new box art would have been
better used for printing the guide.

Cheers!

Marc

How is this game? I have a PII 450, with a Viper550, and a Monster3DII. Does
it have any support for any of my video hardware.
Is it a fun game to play.
I seen that Microsoft's Cart is also $20. Which is more fun.

Cart will run in 2d dos or win95 which is buggy and slow etc and should be
avoided.  To get the
nifty keeno wow 3d version to work tho, you'll need a vid card based on the
rendition chipset.  Neither or your cards have that.   However, you could
get CARt and use it for a track source for N2/N299.  there are track
convertors that allow N2 to use the CART tracks.  Touring cars and CART
tracks are quite fun.

My experience if just the opposite.  I run it under Win95 and have absolutely no
problems and get frame rates in the high 30's all the time and that on a PII 266
with 4mb AGP card.

Agree, and it's a blast to run "Champ" cars on N2 tracks, especially the short
tracks. Paul

True, there is no more manual included, but there are 350 pages of it on the
disc in adobe acrobat format.
BTW, I just picked this game up for only $9.99.
I wish there was 3D support for something else besides the Rendition.
