Little changes in the palette AFAIK... From what I remember there's a new
N2<>Icr2 converter that is ok for Cart Racing. Try to email David Noonan or
somebody at ThePits.

And the additional book. That's mostly all (oh and it's out-of-the-box
patched).

When Sierra replaced ICR2 with CART RACING what did they do other than
to change the start-up screen and the box graphics, because I can't get
the ICR2 > N2 track convertor to work. I've sent a message to Jan
wondering if he has any ideas, but I wonder if anyone has experienced
any weirdness with this sim when trying to convert N2 tracks to ICR2
etc, etc, etc.

I also can't get the EDITRPY utility to extract car set data, making it
virtually useless.

 Martin,
I can't claim to be the expert on this subject, but I'd guess they did
quite a bit different. The main obvious reason is that ICR2 is DOS and Cart
Racing is a Win executable. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. I know the tracks
and everything is pretty much the same, maybe it's just a Win shell/splash
screens over the original DOS stuff. Good luck, all the best, Mike

I have used the N2/ICR2 convertor on two tracks, Bullrun and California
with no
problems.  About the only thing I can think of, you need to purchase the
N2>ICR2
convertor from The Pits.  If you have a demo, it might not convert many
tracks.
works great though for me.  (also if you purchased the ICR2 > N2 convertor,
then
the newer N2>ICR2 should be included in that price.  And....for all the
above
ICR2 equals Cart Racing.  same except for some minor 3d tweeks and pallete
changes...Road America looks bluish....:)           )

I haven't ever used that utility so I can't help you there.

Almost right Michael,   THE CART cd has a dos, win95 and Rendition
version all on the same disk.
The biggest problem with this is the setup file.  If you try to setup from
win95 the program will automatically
install all THREE versions of the game,  so you get three folders, three
sets of tracks, three sets of cars etc.
huge hard drive hog.  The best way to install them is to go into the
indidual folders to install only the version
you want.

The converter only works with the DOS/REND versions of CART. It won't work
with the windows version. But If you installed it via the
Sierra install program, you already have all three versions on your
HD. Look under c:\sierra\CART\DOS(the old dos version)\REND
(the version with 5 rentition tracks)!

There is a bug in the install program and three complete versions
of CART install!

Perhaps it's searching for the file "indycar.exe"...copy the cart.exe to a
new file called
indycar.exe, and then run the converter.

Cheers!
