Logitech Wingman FF: New or old batch?

How do I know if a Logitech Wingman FF wheel is the newer model with
improved pedal springs? Are the boxes different? I am going to order one.

Mainly red is newer box, mainly white is the old one. The newer has also
SCGT and Wingman Software v3.25c.

do you know whether it is possible to update from an old one to a new one?

I don't understand? You mean software? Sure! Hardware? Alison said there
were also some other improvements to the wheel and not only pedal springs.
But i think they only sell the new ones now.

Driver update no problem. Actual version is 3.30
