MS FF in GPL?

Ok I have changed my setting for FF to;
[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 1                       ; enables Force
Feedback

force_feedback_latency = 0.005                 ; in seconds
force_feedback_damping = 200.0                  ; magic number
max_steering_torque = 300.0                    ; in Newton-inches

 But I have never felt a wiggle, a jolt, a curb or even a blade of
grass when I was off road. These work in other games...SCGT, F1 2K2
and MTM. Also is there a differance in core.ini.sample and the
core.ini files? Because my Core.ini. file has ...
[rasterizer]
fullscreen=1
nothing else is in that file, but core.ini.sample has server, client
and joystick settings which are above, as well as other settings.
Should these seeting be in the core.ini file?

you need to delete the '.sample' bit off the end of core.ini.sample
(like it says in the D3D readme)

core.ini is read by GPL, core.ini.sample isn't so it's ignoring your
settings.

You should use the default settings--they were developed for the MS FFB
wheel.

Also, see Kevin's message...

This is what I am using. This is for the USB wheel (you didn't mention which
one you have).  My guess would be that you have way too much damping.  I
have spent a lot of time working on this, and following a definite procedure
to do it -- but it's never perfect.  Mine are also a compromise between the
feel of the F1 and F2 cars.

[ Joy ]
allow_force_feedback = 1
force_feedback_damping = 2
force_feedback_latency = 0.02
max_steering_torque = 410
