  Hi world

  I was watching the live coverage of Friday 2nd free practice on EuroSport
   when one of the commentators (Not John Watson) said that Villie had been using
   a new GrandPrix game to learn the course.  I wonder what one :)

   I bet he has all the pedals & stearing gear on a 200mhz pentium
  witha 21"+ screen

It must have been Ben Edwards, I heard this too, it would be nice to
know Villeneuves thoughts on the game.

Yes you are right, I'm from Canada, and in the newspaper this morning
(Saturday) i just read that Jacques is using GP2 to get familiarized
with the circuits. He said prior to the weekend he had a videotape
with Senna doing a qualifying lap at SPA, and he practiced with GP2-->
He mentioned it's incredibly close to the real thing. He gave one
hint; in the fast corners i'm a little bit oversteered and in the slow
portion i'm understeered. At the Raidillon he said; I don't lift the
throttle and i'm holding my breath for 3 second,and can feel the back
slipping at maximum speed,and this is what i like the most!

Result: this afternoon (At SPA) qualifying session A NEW LAP RECORD and
POLE POSITION (.5 sec over Hill) Bravo!

Jacques Villeneuve did manage to get pole for the Belgium race and also said
that in the video game he qualified 18th.

And Murray Walker mentioned it a couple of times during qualifying
today. You know - like how did he learn the circuit so damn fast...!?

Of course they never mentioned the name of that "computer game".

Interesting.

I heard that too on the EPSN page.

I don't know if the setup would be of any use, he said he only qualified 18th.

So there is hope for me yet :-) (not).

so tell me how does simulate a real race when a pro cant do any better
its to hard as with nascar and icr2,not much fun once you get by the eye
candy

EIGH***TH!?!?!?!

Guess he's not going to be in the HOF then..... :-)  The guys over on
CompuServe are running 1:47s, and that's about four seconds faster than
the ACE level pole time.

What was Frank Williams number? I wonder if he needs a driver for next
season...... :)

I think it`s pretty certain to be GP2, he described it as the "latest
video game".  Maybe Palmer could do a Grandstand Guide on it ;-)

I dunno if you'd bother, He said on the interview I saw that he only
qualified 18th!!

You probably wouldn't want it. Apparently he finished 18th with the GP2
race. He said it helped him learn the track though.

You know a game is tough when one of the best racers in the world has a
tough time with it.
