V-Rally 3 demo

Just played the demo, and it seems like they've added a few things I
don't remember from the x-box version (which I enjoyed thoroughly).
The replay controls are very nice, not quite papy quality but better
than any other sim I can think of.  The physics/controls were
definitely tweaked since the console release, I was expecting a CMR3
type experience and I think it feels better than that.  Granted, I'm
not using force feedback and I have a feeling the only FFB available
is 'vibratoin'.  I don't recall the telemetry being in the console
version, but it's been awhile since I played it.

The part of the game that isn't in the demo and is a lot of fun is the
career mode.  You start off with a ***team in a 1.6L car and work on
building up your personal and team reputation until either the team
gets better or you get offered a better deal.  Another nice touch is
that, as far as I'm aware, it's the only arcade-ish rally game where
it's actually possible to crash out of a rally.

Not the rally sim I'm looking for, but it will get some play until
Richard Burns comes out.

Oh yeah, the other thing it has that I haven't seen in a "fun" rally
title is a usable***pit.  You can disable all the HUD ***and
actually just have a windshield and a functional tach.

I tried all sorts of config setups. The physics and handling is utter
dog poo. Save your money and get MS Rallisport Challenge instead, which
is in the same arcady category but at least it resembles somewhat the
feeling of an actual car instead of a sliding plywood box.

you just dont know how to do it.

IMO: If you think CMR2 was good "arcade" game this is better. Best rally
game 2003.

MS Rallisport Challenge was ...dog poo

They all remind me of the dog rockets in my backyard.

The demo has wheel support, just move your wheel in the appropriate
direction when setting your controls.

All the best,

says...

As others have said, it works fine with a wheel. Not really worth the
trouble though -- the physics suck. After playing Rally Trophy for a
little while, VRally is a joke.

Wow, what a shock. I hope for his sake and the sake of his family that
he pulls through.
