Vrally 99 Is a horrid arcade game based on what I have seen of the
demo.
The graphics are smooth and fast, but why shouldn't they be with only
one car to track?
No visible damage.
Extremely jerky control. I turned the sensitivity all the way down,
over calibrated my joysticks, and it is still extremely touchy.
Barley turn the car left or right and it flies immediately left or
right.
Hit a embankment? Flipping over? Not to worry, the car will always
land on its wheels.
And an arrow is always popping up in on your screen showing the turn,
even though your co-pilot driver is telling you what the turn is.
And, why can't I have an in-car view? I have the choice of sitting on
the hood or the bumper but not inside the car?
Extremely unrealistic, and very much an arcade racer in it's current
form.

V-Rally Edition '99 Demo Released

The demo is locked in arcade mode and controls like the accelerator pedal
seem to be either on or off. No***pit that I could find so you are some
disembodied entity screaming along like a bowling ball in a gutter. No  car
physics to speak of. The track graphics are nice: on a par with Powerslide
which is, IMHO, a much better and more fun arcade style racer.
It would be great if some European rally sim developer would license the
GPL physics engine for use in a *** rally sim. If GPL can handle
Mosport and Nurburgring then it ought to be able to cope with the demands of
rally stages.
