I'll second this... if Jason is running 54.9s at Pocono w/ the fast setup &
no draft, I need all the help I can get. ;-(
Brian
Well I for one only want it for the graphically displayed race reports :-)

Ahh... so *thats* why its been so quiet about it... :-)
'Hate it when some want to make a profit on stuff like this though.....
makes me wonder how many tracks/cars/utilites/drivers/leauges we would have
if everyone wanted to earn a dime on their "product"... :-/
Who'll be the first to ask $10 for a track?

It is finished and will hopefully be released early next week, along
with a more informative website.
Cheers,
/Martin
It's gonna be $10 or something so I've heard.
Which - imho - is against EVERYTHING that this community is about.
I've only been involved in one GPL project ( And all I did was make a few
3do's for castle combe)
BUT - Mike Cotching and Fred Norm...... spent litterally HUNDREDS AND
HUNDREDS of hours doing that track
At a programmers rate of 25 an hour - Castle Combe would have probably cost
10,000 to make.
That - plus the huge ammount of bandwidth to host it ( half a dozen gigs of
transfer) - It's not a 'cheap' thing to do.
Now, whilst I have to say well done for doing the GPLRA - ( I used it, loved
it) - I will not pay for a community product.
I say the same now I said to Noonan. Do it for free - or leave it to
someone else who will.

Dont disagree
Either you're a commercial venture - or you're a community team.
Did Mike Cotchin ask for a few dollars for Castle Combe, Did DG ask for a
few dollars for his textures, Does Brian Simpson ask for a few dollars for
his N2k2 templates?
I just think it's outside the spirit of the community - and I will not be
contributing
I don't see any problems asking a modest fee for someone's efforts,
particularly when they are "unique". It's a pretty old practice under the
shareware concept. If you don't want to pay for it, don't. Just don't be
asking others for copies or hacking the registration as that is piracy. It's
shareware.
I understand creations for the community, I understand Open & GPL licenses,
I understand shareware, and I understand commercial ventures. I don't see
why anyone has to be "forced" into one or the other in order to contribute
to the community.

Seriously, we need a bit of both, shareware and freeware both have their
place, you vote with your wallet, if the Martin's RA was something I'd
feel like using, I'd be willing to pay for it, same with Dave's
converters
