Hi Martin,

go ahead and charge some for the RA. You guys who do add-ons over the years
must be spending hundreds if not thousands of hours creating them.

I thank you for charging so little for it, just as I thank Dave Noonan for
charging so little for his converters, so little as compared to how much
time guys like you and him invest in these products.

Well said Doug...  to me there no difference between a track, a car or an
utility program.
It's all "labour of love" and nothing more.

That is not true.  Go on www.tucows.com, www.download.com, www.simtel.com, name your download site.
90% of the programs on there are shareware, and probably a good 70% of those are just programmers who
want a little in return for their effort.  They are not incorperated, they do not have an office, they are someone
who wrote a program that they hope someone likes.

Point?  These people chose not to charge for their products.  I've never built anything that I charged for either.
I run The Pits free of charge (luckily at the moment the nice guys at BHMotorsports don't get charged for hosting
me).  However, in the past I've kept The Pits online, even when it was costing $120/month.  So?  If someone
chooses to charge for their products, that's their rightful decision.  If I like it, I'll buy it.  If I don't, I won't.

That's your rightful decision.

Cheers!

Exactly the reason why I don't see a problem with people charging for the
work they do. Why are you so against someone getting a reward for their
efforts. If it happened more then some of these guys could even make a
career out of it, allowing more time to be devoted to the projects, making
them even higher quality. Its been happening for years in the FlightSim
world and see what that has done for that sim.

Just because its on the internet does not make it free.
