GPL Strange Appearance

I installed GPL on my new PIII-600 Voodoo 3 last night and right away
fired it up to see how it would work. I couldn't believe how strange it
looked. I was at Monaco and was seeing strange textures on the road
surface, bricks in the walls, all sorts of stuff. It was distracting as
hell! Was this a Voodoo 3 driver problem or something?

I finally realized what it was. On my old PII-233 (later 333), to get
36fps I had turned off virtually EVERYTHING in the graphic options
screen -- all the textures, arms, beveled tires, etc. However, with a
fresh install, everything was turned on. Later, I copied my entire GPL
directory tree over the network from the old PC so that I would get the
1.2 GPL version, all my tracks and setups, etc. This also restored my
old graphics options. Now I'm wondering if, even with the processor h/p
to handle it, I should turn some stuff back on. I'm so used to
the "plain" graphics that I'm not sure that I can handle all that eye
candy.

Eh lol nice post...

I say go for it, increase everything you want because you will be faster I
will say.  You will be able to find more accurate braking and acceleration
points with all the graphics around you.  But make the framerate stay
consistently around 36fps.

And also the possibility to add more sounds.
