GPL 1.1.0.3 - a strange bug

by Arto Wik » Tue, 24 Aug 1999 04:00:00

I was running a 3 lap AI race with 19 opponents. I started 14th,
and could pass a couple of cars in the start. Also later one car
had quitted. At the end of the first lap three cars passed me at
La Source - I just wonder how they can brake so late there :-)

On the second lap I could pass two of these after Les Combes.
So at that moment I was about 13th.

When I had copleted the second lap, they did not show me the
pit board. Well, I thought they can make mistakes...

During the last lap I did not see any cars, so I should have remained
about 13th. But it was very curious to see the pit board at the
end: it said I was 20th! And when I checked the results, I had
lost 1 lap! And I had times only for 2 laps: the first was only text
"XXX", and the second 3:41:64 (yes, yes, not so good... ;-)

But where did one of my laps disappear?

Anybody had similiar experiences?

GPL 1.1.0.3 - a strange bug

I have had a similar experience.  I was racing with a friend of mine at
Monza, I was way ahead, almost a lap in front.  I took the checkered flag
and waited for my pal to hit the S/F line and when he did I hit esc and went
to look at my lap times.  The results showed me a lap down and in 2nd place,
not 1st, yet each lap's pit board showed me in first position.  They were
relatively clean laps, and no wrecks, so I wondered why I was placed 2nd.  I
still do not know.  It is definitely a bug.

GPL 1.1.0.3 - a strange bug

Hi,
I had the same problem at Kyalami on on some races, but with both
versions, it is not depending on the 1.1.0.3 patch. When the pitboard
will not be shown on the S/F line at the end of second lap, then the
computer does not counted your second lap. Only way out is to restart the
race :-(((.
