Is there any action on this front at all? Given that GP3 supports
tcp/ip on a LAN, I hoped that there may be a utility available. But
seemingly not.

So (fingers crossed) is there any hope for an internet *** patch?

Don't count on a patch, and you're chances of getting a net game to work
without severe lag-- cable modem or not-- are not good.

Why is it "<sp> totatally unacceptable!"
It was never claimed to have internet multiplayer.

The Hasbro marketing department brainstormed the gamers with that before
it's release.

Meaning that most did not think internet play was needed?  That's crazy, to
feel that way.  No matter, it's better to have internet play, even if
because of internet cost most non-American users do not feel it is viable.
Imagine GP3 with the net play of N4.  That would be something.

Its very crazy indeed. I don't believe that the decision to leave out
multiplayer was based on its ability to work (as we all know it does)
but because of the FIA and their restrictions when selling the F1
license.

But surely it wouldn't be that hard, given that the game supports
tcp/ip. It doesn't even allow for a faster bit rate than 57600! On a
LAN! Sure is a waste of a 100 Mbit cabling...

I'm certainly no expert in networking or programming, but I thought
that a patch that would allow external ip addresses to be connected to
wouldn't be hard. 'Tis but a shame.
