I've done a 1:14 qual and 1:15 in race.  And that's still slow.  :o(  Plus
those were with my own setups, I can't get much below 1:17 with the fast
setup.  Need to be down in the 1:12's to be competitive.

I saw one of the new guys do a 1:12.9...

I'm doing 1:16's consistently, and I saw Eldred do three 1:17's in a
row.  :)

1:12's lap after lap are gonna force you into the pits long before
everyone else.

No joke.  With the fixed fast I was fealing pretty good about myself
if I can turn a 1:14 during the race, most of my race laps will be in
the mid 1:15 range.  1:12 with fixed fast.... insane.  Actually 1:12
w/ any setup is insane.

Okay I don't really race online so I guess I don't know for sure.  I was
basing that statement on the fact that a) the real guys are running 1:11's
and 1:12's, b) If you set the AI at 100% they run 1:12's and 1:13's, c) I
think the NR2003 record is around 1:09, so add 3 seconds to that for a
reasonable race lap and you get 1:12, d) I have downloaded and analyzed 1:12
laps in NR2003RA and they don't appear to be doing anything that would be
impossible for a good driver to achieve with the fast setup, e) if I can do
an occasional 1:14, shame on anybody who can't do better!  ;o)

You can run 1:19's with the FAST setup using the keyboard and driving
aids :-)

Just keep her on the track for the entire race and you can almost be assured
of a good finish.

"Mitch_A" <

With all the mods for f1 2k2 this past year, I've bascially ignored the
Papy side for quite some time.  Got online the other day At Watkins, had a
flat and then a lockup in the esses within 3 laps...just like old times for
me!!!  The average times with that group were 1:18's to 19's.  One guy was
faster than that.  I was quite a-bit slower.
