Not much to say. Lots of fun, especially the double file restarts (i was the
only one using it :) ), couple of cautions, slick surface, and just plain
good racing. Funny, we made it through a race without all them rules ..well,
the guys did slow down on the yellows and didnt race back to the line too
hard. That helped me get one lap back. I like that rule.Course, Jan slowed
down more than I could and I took a trip to the infield but all was not
lost. See yall next week.

Eh? -I don't remember that one (and didn't save a replay, oops)... I came
across you spun out low in the s/f area one time and I did slow rather
***ly (no-one behind AFAIK) as I thought I would have to let you bye
again, but the spotter didn't call it.

Anyway, if I really did: my apologies. Refresh my memory and maybe I'll
learn something for next time.

Who won? I had to leave to go watch my brother do some real racing. He had
better luck than me and won his heat and the feature.

My apologies to anyone that got caught up in my spin when I tried to answer
my cell phone. I normally wouldn't have answered it, but it was work and I
mistakenly thought it might actually be important.

Ginger, I think... didn't save the results either.

Great.

LOL, I know the feeling... ;-)

Um, where was this run?

I was on at 4pm, and saw nothing beginning with "RAS".

Not that it matters.  At 4:15pm, my Cable connection went on a 6 hour
hiatus, came back for a while, then left for another 6 hours or so :(

Larry,

I got there a little late, & someone had already grabbed an open server
& I couldn't find any1 either, until Dave appeared in the chat room
looking for another server 'cause they were having probs with drop-ins
(seems that as soon as you get a group together, every1 sees a bunch in
a race & wants to jump right in).

Dave got another server, & I went into the 1st one & spread the word to
go to another server.  Problem was, that the races were limited to 10%,
somehow Jan was boss (never did figure out how that happened, Dave
transferred it, Jan took over when Dave left & came back, or ?).

Anyway, Jan set up a Marty 10%, most of us joined, then practice went
nuts as the drop-ins started again.  I hadn't practiced Marty at all,
except for a couple laps months ago, & didn't feel comfortable enough to
stay.  Others were not happy with all the drop-ins, & some tempers were
getting short, & Brian (zugzug) mentioned another empty server, so I
bailed out & took over the other server.  I don't have any experience w/
being "boss" so I played around with it & was able to figure out that I
could get a 40% race going.  So I picked a track I didn't think anyone
would be drawn to (Kansas), set it to 40%, yellows, pace, 30min
practice, etc, (in order to try to discourage anyone jumping in, plus
it's the way we've been doing it), tried to set a PW,& bailed to spread
the word.

Got back in as "boss" (the PW didn't stick after I left the server, so I
set it again after I got there) but couldn't reset anything  after
hitting "continue" & leaving the setup screen.  Seems that the Admin
allows more settings than most, but won't allow canceling the "weekend"
after it has begun.  I didn't really want Kansas (haven't run it since
the last time we were there), & thought I could change it to consensus
track...  It didn't work

Tried to talk Jan into being the "boss", but he didn't want it any more
than I did (where's Ed when I need him?)   ;o/

Others may have more input, I don't know what really happened on the
other servers.

Anyway, after a troubling beginning, the afternoon turned out ok.  Sorry
for the long-winded reply, didn't realize I had so much to say.    ;o)

Yes, somehow we got hold of the berryhill server and it was passworded for
us. No tsure how it all came about actually, but it worked great.

Yes, Ginger beat out Brian O. at the line.

P.S. Anyone who ever suggested my freezes were being caused by the AGP were
apparently correct. I didn't have to re-install the drivers, but I did reset
it with the GeForce Tweak Utility and haven't had any freezes since (about
200 laps so far).

WooHOO!!!!
Oh wait - that means I can't count on your system freezing so I can make a
pass... :-)

Brian (the other one... well I guess I'm the other one) set the PW
when he was boss.  Ping times were kinda high on it, but quality was
excellent (which is what really counts) so things worked out pretty
good.

BTW, I thought Kansas was an excellent choice.  We had problems with
the last Kansas race and the Kansas track has very smooth transitions
which makes it easier to drive then some other 1.5 ovals so people
could jump in and get used to the fixed fast setup in practice in a
short amount of time.

If we run a few more weeks without Eldred's server maybe some of us
could make a list of possible open serves to take over and list them
Friday before the race, that way when stragglers come by they would
know which server to check out and we would not spend an hour just
trying to find a server to hijack.

Also, my apologies to Ian for punting him early in the race.  I
slammed on the brakes in the middle of the corner when I realized I
had a run on you but it was too late.  A little warp may have played
into it, but I was definitely too close for on-line racing.

Ya, he came on STRONG at the end.  I had a couple of seconds lead so I
started cruising and next thing I know he was in my rear view mirror.
We traded the lead a couple of times and I was pushing it as hard as
possible but just didn't have anything for him.

Thats great news.  Nothing brings on such a feeling of Nirvana like
fixing a system problem.

Well at least you won't have to be nervous around me wondering if it's even
safe to make a pass. :-)

Great finish.

Only took about five months and 25 RASCAR races. :-)
