What is this?  Nascar Revolution??  What the...?  I never heard squat about
this game till today.  Whats it like?  I mean, They just released Nascar99
not THAT long ago, not to mention N3 which i can't wait for.  But is this
new game really worth going out to get???

Hey Paranoid Eyes...

Why don't you take that somewhere else, pal!

And please, no lame "First Amendment" or "Hey, it's Usenet, anything
goes..." arguments.

Thanks Jack,

You bet, Chris! And thank YOU, for e-mailing him.

BTW, pardon my NASCAR/NROS ignorance, but what is "FastCop" anyway?

Y'know, that's EXACTLY what my first reaction was.  Your last comment is
why I decided not to post tho'. Glad to see there are others who also
respect the first amendment, but who feel that THIS form of expression is
WAY out of line in this arena.

    That's better... <G>

NasRev demo has been out for a while (http://www.racesimcentral.net/),
it's MORE of an arcade game than sim, but it DOES allow a little more
settings than a straight arcade game would.  There'll be custom setups,
custom paint jobs 'n' such.  Looks BEAUTIFUL, but you're not TRULY your own
car: you drive in the place of an existing Nascar driver (in the demo's case
it's Dale E.).  Demo only allows you to race at C***te.  The grandstands
have a tendancy to "pop up" as you round the corners, but watching the sun
go down and the lights come on during the race is pretty cool.  The bumper
cam view is AWESOME - VERY good sense of speed.  Alas, most of the other
views give NO sense of speed (to me, anyway).  The play by play is better
than only a spotter, but gets cheesy for the most part ("there's action all
OVER the racetrack" comes out WAY too often).  Crowd noise is a plus, and
you're informed at various parts of the track how your run is going.  Demo
requires a P-233 and 3Dfx to run, you don't get to qualify (back of the
pack) and have to wait thru the "drive by" of all the cars as they announce
each driver (takes too long IMO), but it's worth looking at.  List price
will be $49.95 ($50), but someone got a postcard from EA offering it for $35
shipped.  That's the max _I'D_ pay for it...

I spent 12 years in the Navy, so it wasn't the STATEMENT the guy made
with his tagline, it was that it was TOTALLY inappropriate for this venue.
I believe we all have a right to free speech, but I don't have the right to
walk into the middle of a library and start screaming obscenities (even if
screaming obscenities is my constitutional right!), because it's not
appropriate for that venue.  If this were the .hate group or something
similar then I wouldn't've said a thing...

An anticipated defense coming from a guy who has a signature like yours and
identifies his organization as " Free fix for a f..k !!"

It's you, my friend, that needs to discover the real world. On the other
hand, perhaps you have and you've been unsuccessful in your attempts to
adapt to it.

Discretion goes a long way in life. Try some.

First, just hit enter to skip the drive-by, and other portions at the
start of the game....

Now, has anyone noticed that the setup for the demo has one of the worst
'pushes' you've ever experienced?

Especially for C***te, which is a track you tend to set up for as
loose so the throttle can help you wring it thru the corners.

Man, I run on NROS, then play this and end up smacking the wall every
time :)

11 years here, and like Gunner, there isn't a word spoken that can shock
me.

But that doesn't mean it's proper to say things like this in
inappropriate places...
