Has anyone played the new nascar simulation that papyrus is planning to
realease soon.  I saw a demo that could be downloaded through America Online
but it would take way too long (158 minutes).  If anyone has played, seen or
read anything about the game I would appreciate any input you may have.  Is
anyone else wondering why a good NASCAR racing game hasn't already been
realeased by someone.  This one better be good cause I've been waiting along
time for one.

The Nascar Racing demo that you spotted on America Online is also available
via ftp from Papyrus' ftp site.

As for actually playing the sim, since it hasn't been released yet, and is
in fact still in beta, no one but testers and developers should be playing
it.

Several Magazines have articles discussing or p/reviewing NASCAR Racing
including Strategy Plus and CD-ROM Multimedia Magazine.  Interactive
Entertainment magazine, the CD-ROM ONLY magazine also has a demo.  It may
even be the same one mentioned above.  It includes several *.AVI clips of the
action.

After stumbling upon this group about a month ago and following
it,...I've decided to get in on the action too (you guys are having too
much fun!)  I'm interested in picking up the ICR game, but I want to
make sure I'm getting the right version, etc.  The local computer shop
had what I thought was this ICR everyone has been talking about.  Yet,
there were only 7 tracks.  Do you have to purchase the other tracks?
Or do I have the wrong game?

I have a 486/33Mhz (full 32 bit bus)...will this be sufficient for
simulation?

Thanx in advance

It's the right game - there are two expansion packs: one with 7 extra
tracks, another one with Indianapolis and a paint program. For the
latest version you will have to check on some of the ftp sites, since
most games on the shelves are going to be outdated 1.00 or maybe
1.03 versions. If you buy an expansion pacjk, you'll get the latest
1.05 with it.

Sounds just right. It is important to have more than 4mb RAM, though,
otherwise your graphics may get a bit reduced, and some bigger
tracks won't load with lots of opponents selected. 16mb is ideal if you
want to see long replays, too.

And - don't plan on getting to much fun out of driving with the keyboard
as teh input device. I know some people are actually getting respectable
times that way, but it really is no fun compared to a nice joystick, or,
if you are really hooked, a Thrustmaster T1 setup with a steering wheel
and foot pedals.

Sound: Sounblaster is good enough.

Yes , I did !
It looks great !
It looks like IndyCar, really, with a few improvements. I didn't test the sound,
but ***/Papyrus said it will be uncredible.

I'll buy it ! ;-)

Enjoy .
