: The Thrustmast T1 package has been advertised in ON TRACK magazine during the past year as an option on the IndyCar and NASCAR games.
: I'm curious if anyone has tried one and if so how well do they work.
I have been using the T1 since IndyCar I came out. Well, I tried to
drive with the joystick for a couple of months, but that didn't cut the
mustard. Before I took the plunge for the T1, I tried a couple of
"yoke" systems. None of which provided the control I need for steering.
One of the advantages (besides steering control), is the ability to lead
the car with the brake (putting down force on the front wheels while
braking and steering). This works just like the real thing in ICR1,
NASCAR & ICR2. This is a must for working the road courses.
If you can afford it and plan to spend alot of time racing, it's well
worth the investment.
