NASCAR 3 Questions....from a newbie please assist if you can

I am new to this NASCAR 3 thing....have only had the game about 2
months..I have a few questions if anyone can help me out.

1.      Me and 5 of my friends like racing each other....However when
we actually get into the race we see different cars for each
other....like myself I may see two cars just like mine.....what are we
doing wrong here....the correct cars never show up properly on each
others screens.

2.      I see stuff all over the internet like new car dashes, new
cars, new decals, other tracks etc.   Now I have read the owners
manual from cover to cover a couple of times and see no mention of
these things and how to install or use them....I am able to find bits
and pieces here and there but would like to find a site that has
DETAILED INSTRUCTIONS on how to install and use these things.....

Could someone point me in the right direction please....alot of the
stuff I find is for other racing games or older verisons of NASCAR

Thank you for your time from a 50 year old kid at heart.

About seeing their cars.

You need to copy their .car file into your Nascar3\cars directory

If you have the car file in your car directory, you will see them

Also, it sounds like you may have edited your multi.lst
Never edit the multi.lst
If you have, I suggest that you copy the default one back off of the CD

Basically, if you have the default multi.lst, the only thing you need to do
to select cars is to use the dropdown selection and select which car you
want to drive. Everyone else will see it correctly (if everyone is using
the default multi.lst).  If you want to use custom cars (something you
have downloaded or created yourself), then you need to type in the car
name that you want to use.  Say in your example horseman.car

If you do this however, no one will see you in your car UNLESS they
have the horseman.car file in their cars directory.  Just let them copy it
into their directory and they will see you.

If you all have custom painted cars, then each of you needs to send
his car to the other racers.  Once you all have the same five cars in
the in your C:\papyrus\n3\cars folder, then you all will see the proper
cars when you are racing.  The reason you see two of your cars is that
the host doesn't have your car in his cars folder and so your system
duplicates your car to represent his.  Use winzip or a similar utility
to zip up your car file and send them to your friends, i.e. as an
attachment to an email.  Or upload them to a website your friends can
all access so that all of you can dload them.

Most of these additions have nothing to do with the creators of
Nascar3, Papyrus, so there would NEVER be anything in the manual about
them.  They are done by private individuals.  Almost all include a
read.me type of file or readme.txt file of some sort inside the zip file
you downloaded.
Some of the instructions in the readme's are very clear and concise,
but others are very skimpy.  Once you figure out one or two of the
additions, most of the others will at least be somewhat similar.

Feel free to write back if we have confused you more.  :)
