Newbie NASCAR/Graphics card question

I'm trying to goose my computer's NASCAR performance while waiting for an
upgrade to run NCR2 in the fall <G> and I bought a #9 (brand name) 2-mb
(dram) video card for my 486 DX 66 (and ran it in VESA). When I ran NCR I
saw no improvement what so ever (over my Leopard 1-mb board). Is the #9
not a help for DOS apps? I know I've left little info, but does anyone
have any thoughts?
