Its a shame we dont have more info in the ranking, Laps done, etc should be
cool ...

Why we dont still have rated servers (ie: 2-10) ?

Im beginning to get bored of some wreckers (hullo fixit and bergerboy)

I was wondering that, myself - where are the 2-10, 3-10 servers?

Not looking for a flame fest, but I question the validity of these numbers.
I know some of the guys that are rated there, and they are good racers. But
the system kinda makes me chuckle. I mean you login and type updateme and
put up some numbers. As bad as most folks are on Sierra at driving, I would
think they are equally as good at lying. Seems any 12 year old could type
updateme 1 0 1 2 101.8 and get rated and probably never have driven a lap.
Are there checks and balances (going back to 8th grade social studies, lol)
in place or is this totally an honor system deal? If it is an honor system,
then I will flag this site as one "for entertainment purposes only", kinda
like the scales at the drug store.

While your mad at me now, answer this, have they fixed that hokey LPI to
where I stop getting knocked for being swept into a wreck that I did not
cause? If not then LPI is not accurate in my opinion. I had run up a crazy
(read: inaccurate to begin with) LPI number like 998 or something (by racing
in my league) and got wrecked by someone else's mistake and it took some
laps away. Sorry, I didn't cause the yellow, I just lost a front tire and
hood and front end becasue of the dufus who did cause it, lol. Maybe thats
why there are individual track-type ratings instead of LPI cause Papy knows
that it is an nonscientific way of comparing driving skill. I think they
just threw it in becuase everyone was yelling for stats and TEN this and TEN
that. I agree with this poster, laps done, average finish, average start,
DNF's, etc; now those are stats. Average pit stop length would be another
too (the same type Fox is using, end of pre pit lap to end of post pit
lap??), real racers can stop as good as they can go. Of course with sprint
races galore, I bet half the people running pickup races have EVER had to
make a pit stop for fuel, lol.

Just curious, as we took our race servers off Sierra in March or April and
have been connecting through IP since. No ratings, no nothing. Show up,
qualify, race, and the guy to run the number of laps first wins. Count up
the points and do it again next week. Now that's racin'. None of this "Your
rating is not high enough to race on this server" Of course it ain't, I
don't race in the arenas, lol. OK here's me: SimRacer69:  updateme 0 0 0 0
0.0, lol.

Whoever is doing this site is doing a great job, I just would want proof. I
don't think that the stats are accurate to begin with, and I don't think
they will do away with wreckers, even wreckers building up stats so they can
wreck you in your 2-10 servers either. Kudos to Papy and Statreaper for
working so hard to try though. I mean is that automated? Log the chat, input
the file and filter for the "updateme" string. Pretty smart concept.

My 2 cents,

SimRacer
