Why all the NASCAR Heat posts?

Just an innocent question.  Been away a few days, come back and NH is
all the rage.  What did I miss?

Just a spike in interest due to the release of the final patch...And some
new mods like the just released GTP mod.   A couple of leagues still use
Heat, it probably has the 2nd best online module, at least for Road Racing.
The lack of online yellows really cramps the oval racing to just sprints.

For me it was/is because of the big news. The end of NASCAR sims for Papy.
I'm revisting Heat as a preview of NASCAR Thunder. Since Thunder is basicly
Heat 2 I was checking things out to see if it would be worth buying Thunder.

you actually need to be checking out that and F1 2002. The company doing the
physics are the same ones as F12002 as far as I know and it will probably be
more akined to that ...

I think maybe Luke Phillips might have just gotten the game.  5 out of 6 of
the NH posts from the past few days were started by him.

While I agree with you. I have Heat in the drawer while F12002 would cost me
money to buy.

Maybe I just crawled out from under a rock but what did you say?  The end of
NASCAR sims for Papy?  What are the details, I didn't find anything that
firm with a google search.  TIA.

Papy has said that the next release will be the Finale' in the series for
them.  They are going to move on to other projects.  No word as to whether
that means *** Consoles, or other styles of programming for the PC.

NT 2003 has nothing to do with MGI.  Dave P, correct me if I'm wrong
here.

It is being developed by Tiburion (who also do the Madden series) and
is based on ISI's engine from F1 2002.

The producer is a former MGI person, I think that's why MadDAWG made the
connection.

Actually I think he is also a former Papy person...

State...
