F1 Sim steering wheel/pedals

I just bought the F1 Sim kit (Digital Edge) and can confirm it is very
good. It's very well built and has a good solid feel to it. The wheel
assembly quick releases from the base which sits under the monitor, and the
lead from the PC is easily removed and allows your joy stick to be
reconnected. A very well designed item

Can't yet comment on durability, but I will post my findings here.

For those that haven't seen it yet, it has a genuine steering wheel with
two buttons on the centre rim (for games where software supported) and
paddle gear change levers behind - just like a real F1 car. It also has a
centre LED which acts as a gear change light, but this only works with
cards that are 100% soundblaster compatible.

It's just been reduced to 199.99 so it may be cheaper mail order.
Can't yet afford the full size F1 car that it can be fitted into
(2000.00), but then I havn't the room for a full-size car in my house!
Accessories include: air blower which increase with the speed of the car
(if you're wearing a crash helmet you won't feel the wind anyway), a
Virtual Motion Simulator (probably a huge ***) and a clutch pedal (do
you really need one?).

I haven't got a web address for them, but I can give you their UK address
and 'phone No:

Zye Technology Ltd
9, The Brunel Centre
Newton Road
Crawley
West Sussex
RH10 2TU
United Kingdom

UK tel No: 01293 538666

Apparently there's a sales drive going on so that's why the price has been
reduced. No it's not the GP500, I've seen that on web sites and this is
different.

If you like, I will scan a picture of it and e-mail it too you. If your in
the UK, you will see it advertised in the Evesham Micros pages of PCPro
Magazine (ish 32 June edition).

OOps, I did make an error: apparently this IS a version of the GP500, only
it's a newer version. All info can be found at:
http://195.153.26.160/interactive_racing/index.html.

It's the website for Interactive Racing Ltd. If the above address doesn't
work you could try a web search.

Gary,

Is this wheel formerly known as the GP500? If not, could you kindly
provide a web address? Is this some special sale going on?

Cheers,

Stanley Chan

Yes the F1 SIM is the same as the GP500, except its a newer version.

I have just purchased one and its GREAT, IF NOT THE BEST wheel and pedal
combo.

It is priced at 199.00 INCLUSIVE in the UK.

The new improvements over the old GP500 are leather steering stitched
wheel (not sure if the old one was leather?), four LED lights above the
steering wheel hub (only one LED on the old GP500), all steel
construction, steel pedals, steel paddles behind the wheel for gear
changes, which turn with the wheel, fully adjustable pedals, eg:-
resistance, positioning, one pedal can be ***, Centering adjustment
for the steering wheel column, quick release wheel, etc..

Interactive racing were the original makers, but I think due to the wheel
becoming so popular, they licensed Digital Edge to make the wheel for
them, but you can still get them from Interactive racing.

BUY ONE TODAY.
